Design of two large format free standing banners for the City of Playford’s Youth Advisory Committee. This project features photography supplied by the client and required that the material appeal to young people in the area while retaining the authority of the council. TOP
The primary objective of “Pulse of the Public” is to increase community involvement in shaping the future direction of the Council. The brochure informs the readers of as many as 27 different opportunities to connect with the council in a unique consultation process leading to a final “Community Think Tank” event . Scend was commissioned to produce an 8 page "gate" folding brochure. Our approach was to focus on people as they go about their daily lives being able to be involved in shaping the direction of council programs.TOP
The Youth Week Talent Competition is designed to be an opportunity for young people living, working or studying in the City of Charles Sturt to showcase their skills in a safe and supportive environment. The City of Charles Sturt Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) required that the promotional materials for this showcase event appear professional and engage the intended audiences while projecting a positive image of the activities of the Youth Advisory Committee. Scend designed a 6 page 1/2 DL brochure featuring a perforated tear off entry form in full colour with spot varnished stars.TOP
Elizapalooza is a multi stage music festival held at the Northern Sound System. Designed to promote the NSS as a significant organisation in the local music industry and to position Elizapalooza as a credible and exciting music festival eagerly anticipated by music fans across the city. One of the essential outcomes for the project is to give young people a sense of pride in living in Adelaide's northern areas. Scend was called on the design all the marketing communication material in the form of pole posters, flyers, stickers and press advertising.TOP
Each year we have a lot of fun with the creation of the invitations to the ANZ’s Christmas cocktail party. Every year has a different theme and this year the theme was ‘Living Art’. The function featured artists on platforms throughout the venue creating artworks that were then auctioned for charity. The idea for the invitations was colour by numbers. The invitations were sent to guests with some coloured pencils and they were invited to create their own artwork and bring it along to the event. TOP
The “Local Government Response to Diverse Communities Project” was initiated as a collaborative venture by four northern regional Councils of Adelaide, the Town of Gawler, the City of Playford, the City of Salisbury, and the City of Tea Tree Gully, arising out of the realisation that older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds living in the northern metropolitan region of Adelaide were not accessing Home & Community Care (HACC) services in proportion to regional demographic demand projections. Scend produced a range of communication solutions including a large format display system, postcards, posters and multi page report. TOP
Current statistics show that 95 percent of all domestic violence involves men being abusive towards their female partner. The remaining 5 percent include domestic violence as perpetrated in gay or lesbian relationships and in a small number of cases, by women against their male partners. Scend designed communications to rise awareness of these alarming statistics. The project included a poster, information card and resource booklet. TOP
Scend worked with the young people of the City of Charles Sturt for over four weeks in producing a series of street banners reflecting their views and ideas in living within the council area and their experience with Youth Central. The banners are a significant landmark outside of Youth Central which now features these designs in their building windows. Over four weekly workshops the elements of the design took shape. The first week involved a brainstorm of words that feature at the top of each banner. Weeks two to four determined that we produce a comic strip and some characters "juggling" various objects that the young people have access to at Youth Central. TOP
Scend worked closely with Shopfront Youth Health and Information Service to design a range of materials to raise awareness of the incidence of sexual abuse in young men. The project is designed to engage young men seeking help with their experiences of abuse and features a discreet information card, A2 poster and therapeutic booklet for use by social workers. TOP
The Latvian Museum approached Scend to design exhibition posters to celebrate the fifty year anniversary of the Latvian Saturday School. The block mounted A1 posters each feature a decade of key images and items from the history of the school including old report cards and concert programs. Each of the posters is based on traditional latvian motifs and also features on a DVD of the school's history. TOP

The Northern Domestic Violence Service approached Scend to develop a DL brochure for the rights and responsibilities clients can expect from the service and importantly what responsibilities clients have to ensure that they receive the best outcomes when engaging with the service. The brochure needed to reflect that the service works with clients from many differing ages and cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. TOP
The Northern Sound System (NSS) is an awesome youth focused music centre located in Elizabeth. NSS introduces a unique concept to this City; combining a 300 person purpose built venue, live recording facilities, rehearsal spaces and music and digital training all in the one place!! This signature 6 page DL flyer provides information about the capabilities and opportunities that this unique community service provides. TOP
Designed as an insert in the Fuse Festival information bags provided to delegates of the festival this A5 single colour information booklet unfolds to an A2 poster. So popular that it has been reprinted several times this resource provides the Northern Sound System with an effective tool to engage their target audience.TOP
The advertising of medicines is controlled in Australia. Drug companies which belong to the Australian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association follow a code of conduct. This code guides how they advertise their products in medical journals, promotional letters and in computer programs. Advertising must be fair, factual and not misleading. Scend created publication and promotional design for brochures and the APMA annual report. TOP

Weddings. Such a time of joy and expectation. This invitation designed for a free spirited couple with a love of the outdoors and adventure captures the personality of the happy couple. The Kombi van featured as the wedding car used to send them off on their honeymoon! TOP
Utlilising distinctive stencil type graphics this poster and press advertisement for the launch of the skate park at Elizabeth. The day included professional skate boarding and BMX displays with live (and loud) music and exhibitions of aerosol art. As a result of this targeted communication the event was a resounding success with many more people than expected arriving on the day to celebrate the opening of a great new community amenity. TOP
Scend worked closely with the University of South Australia, Research and Education Unit on Gendered Violence to produce this resource targeted at older men who have survived sexual abuse as children. It happens in lots of different ways and can be anything physical, emotional or verbal of a sexual nature. As a result of the childhood sexual assault men may experience different effects at various times in their lives. The design of this pamphlet shows the emptiness and 'unraveling' that many men feel as a symptom of the abuse they have suffered. TOP
This booklet was designed to provide young and new mothers with information to guide them to appropriate services, and easy affordable recipes. It was put together after consultation with young mothers in the Northern Region. This booklet was produced to be fun, informative and a celebration of parenthood. . TOP
